new ideas to help you stay ahead of the game.
We can work you to develop a roadmap of iterative improvements to give your charity’s website some much-needed va-va-voom.
Depending on your budget and objectives, this can vary from small sitewide uplifts on problem areas to full overhauls of the design and layouts.
Has editing become difficult?
Manage your website without needing help
If you still love your design but are finding the backend of your website horrible to use then a CMS migration might help.
We can move you over to an easier to use content management system (CMS) or enhance the current CMS to make it easier for you to edit without needing agency help.
Get to know your users better
Personalised approaches for your key user groups
Do you truly understand each of your charity’s user groups and their wants, needs and motivations when using your website? Is your website optimised for each of those user journeys?
We have a range of user experience tasks to help you understand more about your users and ensure your website is targeting them at the right moments with the right content and actions.
Everything 'doing okay'?
Fix those donation and sign up bottlenecks
If your website is just ticking over, you are probably not getting the level of donations, signups and engagements as you need. Conversion rate optimisation works by pushing your website harder to get more meaningful actions from your users.
This approach looks to identify and resolve key drop off and abandonment areas throughout your website, helping you get more value from your current levels of traffic.
Now as a charity we have to watch our budget and make sure the money we spend goes as far as possible and Atelier provide phenomenal value for money. Whether it's routine updates or more proactive solutions building or advising on our strategy, they do it all, they do it brilliantly.

Our website process
Discovery
Effective planning ensures we fully understand all the requirements for the project. Here we set objectives, identify risks, conduct user research, agree project teams and explore the full scope of the project.
Planning
Here we establish the new structure of your website with a sitemap and a wireframe prototype. We look at your services and key areas of your website and how they will interact with each other.
Design
The fun bit - design! Here is where the ideas come to life as we use your brand and our proposed page layouts to produce beautiful design concepts for both mobile and desktop.
Technical scoping
Not the most exciting part but an important one - the functionality and technical planning. Here we plan out your integrations, onsite tools, forms and other functionality to ensure everything will flow seamlessly. You'll get a technical specification outlining everything we plan to build.
Development
The website is then built and put on a development site for you to test internally and with a user sample. Your content addition begins and we conduct thorough testing across devices, browsers and operating systems.
Optimisation
The final stage is preparing the website for go live. We ensure any SEO value built to date as well as new optimisations for search engines and we set up any required analytics and behavioural tracking. The website is then uploaded with little to no downtime from your old website to new.

All you need to know
How much does a new charity website cost?
Building a website is a bit like building a house… how many bedrooms? How many reception rooms? Budget or premium finish?
Website pricing can really vary depending on what functionality you need, how many design concepts you’d like to see, who is writing the content and so on. We don’t do themed or template websites, so our pricing is going to be higher than agencies offering that service, however we can generally offer a great solution for most price points upwards of £3,000.
In the early stages of our discussion we will provide you with a detailed breakdown outlining the core requirements for your site and the pricing for any optional extras or nice to have features. This allows you to build your own price based on what is important to you.
How quickly can you deliver a website?
Timelines can depend on the size of the build – once we have estimated your project we can provide a detailed timeline.
The typical project duration is roughly 10-12 weeks as we find that charities often wish to have additional time built into the timeline for feedback from user forums or trustees.
How do you ensure a project stays on track?
All projects will include a dedicated project manager who will be your main point of contact throughout the project.
You will have weekly progress meetings with them to ensure all tasks are on track and we are running to schedule. There will also be more detailed meetings at key stages e.g. planning, wireframe review, design concept review
What are your website payment terms?
We don’t ask for upfront deposits, an invoice will be sent to you at month end for any work completed within that given month. This will typically offer 30 day payment terms.
If you need to pay in one lump sum for funding / grant reasons then we can facilitate this. We can also provide you with projected invoice amounts for our PAYG pricing.
What content management systems (CMS) do you build with?
Most of our clients request WordPress due to internal team experience and its user friendly dashboard, so most of our websites use this.
However, we do also use Shopify as well as headless stacks such as React.
