What’s involved in UX design?
Do you really know your users?
Targeted research to fill in the blanks around who you are targeting
We offer a range of user research tasks to help you know and understand more about your users.
What makes them tick? Where do they hang out online? How do they like to browse? What causes are they passionate about?
Can you picture your users?
User profiles which resonate with your team - picture your user when crafting campaigns, developing fundraising drives and making website changes.
Having detailed profiles outlining each of your core user types is a great way to craft campaigns which resonate with them.
We can help you identify each user group, uncover insights to develop the profiles and help you create user personas which add value throughout the organisation.
How are users interacting with your business?
Know, understand and plan key journeys through your website.
We will work with you to understand and plan the user journeys that you want your users to take, as well as the ones which align with their wants and needs.
We’ll then use this to audit your website for effectiveness, or to implement fresh journeys into a new website.
An inclusive experience
Ensuring everyone can use your website effectively.
We support you to improve accessibility and inclusivity across your website so that anybody with additional needs or challenges can continue to use your website.
We can help you reach desired accessibility levels as well as bespoke accessibility requirements for specific user groups
Hows your UX looking?
Benchmarking user experience to identify any gaps
Keen to know how you stack up currently? Our UX audit will help you to understand how your user journeys are performing with recommendations to improve.
This is a great way to learn about areas of drop off as well as high and low performing pages.
Conversions not converting?
Techniques to get your website working harder
If your website is experiencing a decline in donations, enquiries or subscriptions, you might need some help with conversion rate optimisation.
This involves identifying key journeys, looking for areas for frustration or drop off and implementing iterative changes to try and improve it.

There are countless bits of information about your users hidden in your data.
It is only by investing in exploring your users in more detail, taking the time to research, monitor and understand them that you are able to benefit.

All you need to know
What is UX design?
UX stands for User Experience design. It is the process of creating products (i.e. websites) that are not only functional and usable but also enjoyable, efficient, and meaningful for the people who use them.
Our focus is on optimising the entire interaction a user has with your website and campaigns.
Is UX the same as UI design?
They do often get mentioned together, however UX (user experience) focuses on the functionality and feel whereas UI (user interface) focuses on the look and interactivity.
How will good UX benefit my charity?
Strong UX design directly impacts your bottom line. It leads to higher user satisfaction, which results in increased conversion rates (donations, sign-ups, enquiries etc), higher donor and user retention, lower support costs (fewer confused customers or offline actions), and improved loyalty.
Studies often show a massive return on investment (ROI) for UX efforts.
Does UX design overlap with accessibility?
Absolutely – we design to meet modern accessibility standards (like WCAG) to ensure your website is usable by people of all abilities.
This is not only a legal consideration but also essential for maximising your potential audience and being as inclusive as possible.
What methods do you use for user research?
There are a range of methods and we will select the most appropriate based on the project. However it can typically include aspects such as surveys, polls, interviews, focus groups and usability testing.
Conducting research ensures decisions are based on real user needs and data as opposed to assumptions.
How long does a UX project take?
The timeline can vary depending on complexity. A small feature redesign may take a couple of weeks whereas a complete end to end project could take a couple of months. For some projects it may be best to work on a retained model whereby we have dedicated time each month to work through UX challenges across the website.
We provide a detailed project plan and timeline at the outset.
